I’ve started training with Online Shotokan Karate Academy after being out of martial arts for about 10 years. I wanted a school where I could train with my 10-year-old, and this has been the perfect fit! We love that we can train together and progress through the program without separating into different classes. I trained in Shotokan karate several years ago, and stopped training due to illness. I decided to get back into it after a few decades and knew I would have to do an online course to study, since no school was near me. I looked at several when I came across OSKA, and after checking out a few videos I decided to sign up with them. I am glad I did.
These instructors are all about helping the students learn and progress, and they are quick to get back to you with answers that you may have as a student. Honestly, for the money you pay, it is the best online karate training you are going to find. I don’t say any of this lightly, these gentlemen are really good at their art and I am proud to be a part of it.

OSKA has completely changed my view of what’s possible through online martial arts training. I have been working Incredible opportunity to improve your karate. I have previous experience in different martial arts, and what really stands out for me is the ability for sensei to see the smallest details and manage to find ways to improve your movement patterns. A slight tweak of hips for kime in hanmi or shomen or a wrist for uke waza – instant improvement. The willingness of an instructor to take their time with a student for these small incremental steps, I think, makes you want to do your best, perform your best, and find your karate-do. There’s no way getting around having to work to better yourself, but through sensei’s guidance it gets a whole lot easier.!
