How do I train Karate Online with you?
The way this works is, you review the material over on The Courses page for your current rank. You’ll need to watch the videos and go through the material on your own many times before submitting a test. If you need help or even want to send us a video to review how you are doing feel free! How long does it take to get to Black Belt?
This is going to differ from person to person. As well as how much time you put into it. It can take anywhere from 3 to 5 years is usually the minimum. Sometimes even longer. Do not feel discouraged if it does!
What style of Karate do you teach?
We teach traditional Shotokan Karate.
How do you offer online lessons so cheaply?
Sensei Jimmy has worked in IT for several years and does most of the technical work such as the website, video editing, ect. We want to pass these savings on to all of you to make karate training available and affordable for all.
Do I need to buy uniforms and belts? Where do I get them?
You don’t really NEED to buy these but you can get them right away maybe around brown belt level. We recommend Amazon or https://www.kungfu4less.com/ just look for a plain white Karate uniform. We usually get the lighter stuff, be sure to check the size charts before you order.
Is it possible to go through the program without a partner?
Yes! We’ve given instructions on how to do things without one in the lesson videos.
What rank can you test me up to?
We can test up to our current ranks, but our either IIMAA or FSKA have to approve for black belt ranks.
Will the rank certificates say “Online” on them?
No, we issue the same certificates for our online students as well as our in-person students. We’ve listed one below as an example. For Black Belt ranks you get one from one or both of the organizations we belong to IIMAA and FSKA.
